What inspired you to get a tattoo sleeve of Greek gods?
I have always been fascinated by Greek mythology and the stories of the Greek gods. I’ve read a lot about them and I found their stories captivating, which inspired me to get a tattoo sleeve featuring some of these powerful deities. To me, it serves as a reminder that strength, courage, and wisdom can be found within us all. It’s also a way to honor my heritage, as ancient Greece was the foundation for so much of our modern culture. Having these tattoos gives me a sense of pride and connection to my ancestors and their beliefs. Plus, they look really cool!
Who are the gods featured on your tattoo sleeve?
My tattoo sleeve features many of the most famous gods from Greek mythology. It includes: Zeus, the king of the gods; Poseidon, god of the seas and earthquakes; Apollo, god of music and prophecy; Ares, god of war; Hermes, messenger god and guide to the underworld; Athena, goddess of wisdom and strategic warfare; and Hades, ruler of the underworld. Each god has a different meaning to me and I feel like my sleeve gives me strength and courage when I look at it.
What do the symbols on your tattoo sleeve represent?
Each of the symbols on my tattoo sleeve represents a different aspect of Greek mythology. The lightning bolt symbolizes Zeus, the trident symbolizes Poseidon, the lyre symbolizes Apollo, the sword is for Ares, and the winged sandals represent Hermes. Additionally, I have an owl for Athena and a three-headed dog for Hades. Other symbols include the sun and moon, which represent balance and harmony in the world, as well as a laurel wreath representing glory and success.
How did you choose the placement of your tattoo sleeve?
When it came to choosing the placement of my tattoo sleeve, I wanted something that would be easily visible and meaningful to me. Ultimately, I decided to place it on my left arm, as this is a symbolic spot for strength and courage in many cultures. This placement also allows me to show off my tattoos without having to cover them up too often. I think this was a great choice and I’m very happy with how it looks!
